The following simple instructions can be explained to consumers. For more information refer them to the Patient Information Leaflet. If some consumers are uncertain or concerned about the enema format, the pharmacy team can help by providing reassurance and explaining how to use it.
- Twist off the seal
- Wet the point with a drip of the tube contents
- Insert the whole tube point into the anus. For treatment in children below 3 years of age, the tube point should be inserted to only approximately half of its length (see marking)
- Empty the tube completely by pressing on the tube’s shoulder
- Take out the tube, still pressed together
