What is Microlax®?
Microlax® helps relieve temporary constipation. Microlax® is a micro-enema, administered by a tube with a nozzle that contains 5 ml of solution (one dose) that is suitable for adults, and may be suitable for babies and young children*.
* The patient should talk to a doctor or BVC (child healthcare centre) before using any constipation medication in children, including Microlax.®
How does Microlax® work?
Microlax® is a fast acting enema that helps to relieve constipation within 5-15 minutes. Its active ingredients (sodium citrate and sodium lauryl sulfoacetate) work together to increase the amount of water in the stool and loosen it.
Microlax® also contains glycerol, sorbic acid, sorbitol and purified water to 5 ml. For further information please refer to the Summary of Product Characteristics.
